Identità Interstiziali LAGERMOBI, Lente II (2021).
Interstitial Identities is a project that grew out of participatory observation of the lives and protests of different groups of asylum seekers in Berlin. Through graphic documentation work, the artist collected information, portraits and stories of the people involved, creating an installation.In particular, the Lagermobi cycle focuses on the living conditions in Berlin’s reception centers, observed in collaboration with the “Lager Mobilization Network,” a Berlin-based civil rights activist group. The portraits of asylum seekers, printed on glass modules and connected by metal elements, are intended to offer a different perspective (a lens) on the stories of protagonists, whose lives are constrained by imposed social and bureaucratic relationships, often limiting.Starting with the theme of forced migration, the project extends to reflect on the broader context of economic and political responsibilities related to the culture of war. In this sense, Interstitial Identities also aims to raise awareness of the consequences of the work of the war industries, whose goal is to perpetuate cycles of conflict and social instability. The installation is thus proposed as a narrative device that combines contemporary art, ethnographic research and political engagement, offering a space for awareness and confrontation on global economic dynamics.
