Marc Koolen
Marc Koolen is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, and cultural entrepreneur based in Amsterdam. A graduate of the Arnhem Art Academy (1998), he is the founder and artistic director of Theaterplatform PickUp and co-initiator of the Fair Performance Pact. With a focus on socially engaged art, he has led projects across major Dutch venues including Paradiso, NDSM, Sexyland, and MACA. His work spans performance, visual arts, and cultural programming, and includes exhibitions at Ruigoord, Robodock, and Museumnacht Rotterdam. Koolen is also known for initiatives like Midnight Market and the NDSM Treehouse, blending artistic vision with community-building and urban development.
