Andrea Colombu werd geboren in Cagliari in 1973.
Hij bezocht het kunstlyceum ‘Foiso Fois’ in Cagliari. Na het behalen van zijn diploma verhuisde hij halverwege de jaren negentig naar Perugia, waar hij naar de Academie voor Schone Kunsten ‘Pietro Vannucci’ ging.
Zijn eerste werken dateren uit dat decennium en de eerste thema’s die ze kenmerken zijn sterk be\u00efnvloed door de gebarenschilderkunst en zijn ge\u00efnspireerd door kunststromingen zoals Informal Art. Terwijl het formele onderzoek hem drijft naar de studie van de zuiverste geometrie\u00ebn, leidt de besmetting van de conceptuele kunst hem naar het omarmen van het idee van symbolische inhoud. In de laatste jaren van het decennium experimenteert hij volop met materialen. Papier, steen, ijzer, steenkoolkrijt en inkt.
In 2000 gaf hij het gebruik van materialen op om nieuwe technieken en compositorische processen aan te pakken, zoals fotografie en vectorafbeeldingen, vaak ondersteund door tekeningen. Alledaagse processen die een meditatief en introspectief karakter krijgen in de observatie van de hedendaagse maatschappij.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
