Het beeld op Carla Iacono’s poster, \u201cPoisoned still life<\/strong>\u201d, behoort tot de fotoserie Antiwonderland, waarin de auteur in haar onderbewustzijn en geheugen graaft, thema’s herontdekt die haar dierbaar zijn en een universum van surre\u00eble verhalen schetst. In \u201cPoisoned Still Life\u201d dragen de wazige silhouetten van de speelgoedsoldaatjes die tussen de verdorde bloemen en takken te zien zijn bij aan het cre\u00ebren van een \u201cgiftig\u201d stilleven waarmee Iacono haar afkeer van elke vorm van geweld krachtig herhaalt.

Carla Iacono woont en werkt in Genua en gebruikt verschillende media waaronder fotografie, collage en installatie. Haar werk, gericht op de thema’s lichaam en metamorfose, analyseert vooral de delicate periode van de adolescentie en de \u201covergangsrituelen\u201d, die worden gezien als een buitengewoon moment van groei, inclusief de inspanning om een eigen identiteit te bereiken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De constante aanwezigheid van autobiografische elementen, zoals het gebruik van haar dochter als onderwerp van veel beelden, benadrukt de voorstelling en maakt het een concreet symbool van het delicate pad dat, tussen twijfels en angsten, elke adolescent naar volwassenheid leidt. Daarna behandelde ze het delicate onderwerp van de exploitatie van culturele verschillen, waarbij ze haar onderzoek verrijkte met beschouwingen over de moeilijkheden van de dialoog die steeds vaker dramatische gebeurtenissen teweegbrengen. Zo werd de fotoserie Re-velation, waarbij gebruik werd gemaakt van de sluier, een accessoire dat in alle belangrijke culturen aanwezig is, hoewel het werd opgevat als een seculier en antropologisch onderzoek, door het netwerk van Italiaanse kerkelijke musea gezien en verwelkomd als een kans om zich open te stellen voor de urgenties van onze tijd en om na te denken over de thema’s die door het project werden gesuggereerd. Al meer dan twee jaar toert Re-velation onafgebroken met tentoonstellingen in belangrijke Italiaanse musea en kunstpodia.
Carla Iacono staat open voor vervuiling tussen media en voegt in haar meest recente fotowerken collage-elementen van grote symbolische waarde toe en combineert deze met installaties die herinneren aan droomachtige en surre\u00eble werelden.
Haar werken zijn gepubliceerd in talrijke tentoonstellingscatalogi in Itali\u00eb en in het buitenland en bevinden zich in openbare en priv\u00e9collecties, waaronder het Musinf (Museum of Modern Art of Information and Photography) van Senigallia, het National Museum of Cinema van Turijn, het Museum of Hedendaagse Kunst van Villa Croce in Genua.
Het is een conceptuele kunst die gebruik maakt van een mix van droom, ironie, dubbelzinnigheid en fantasie met als doel het \u201conthullen\u201d van fragmenten uit het geheugen of onbewuste die in een zichtbare vorm weer opduiken vanuit de diepte van het onzichtbare.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
